Airii~n Deshou?! Monthly Wrap Up (June 2011 Edition)

Another month has come and gone so here's June's wrap-up post. As expected, I didn't break last month's Airii~n deshou?! post record, but I came much closer than I ever thought, especially considering I now have school to attend daily.

There was a pretty epic Sayu appearance that Hyakupa subtitled into English. Watch as Sayu and staff plays a hilarious prank on an unsuspecting host.

Buono!'s Ice Mermaid preview + Natsu Dakara PV preview

I like this song a lot better than Natsu Dakara. As one of the comments said, "Now this IS Buono!!"

This is a perfect example of why I never ignore b-sides. I don't really like Natsu Dakara, but it doesn't matter because Ice Mermaid is pretty cool. And as you'll see below, the Natsu Dakara PV is nice, which makes this single even stronger.

I'm glad that it has much more depth to it than just close ups and dancing. Of course, Buono! themselves are awesome and it shows in this less-than-normal (H!P) PV.

Ice Mermaid plus the Natsu Dakara PV has convinced me enough to buy this single and you can do the same at CDJapan!

EDIT: Oh and this single will be used to promote a MMORPG game. Nice!

After one listen, I'm totally not feeling this one. I've absolutely had it with summery happy-go-lucky songs, even though this is only the second one this year. Normally I don't mind variety, but Buono! are rockers. They are at their best with songs like MY BOY, Kataomoi, etc.

I'll withhold complete judgement of this single until I see the PV, but as of right now this is my least favorite Buono! song.

Well, it's finally happening. Morning Musume's 47th single will be Aichan's last. It's a double A-side titled Kono Chikyu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatteirun da yo! / Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai.

...yeah, I'm never going to remember that.

There are four normal versions (three limited DVD versions), which you can now pre-order at CDJapan. The first press regular edition comes with a trading card. There is also an Aichan graduation version where the second song is an Aichan solo. Now is as good as a time as ever to show your support for Morning Musume!

Captain, Chinami, and Momoko were guests on the TV show Kuru Kuru Miracle to promote Ai no Dangan last Friday. The promotion doesn't seem to end, does it? (Not that I'm complaining; good job UFA)

I think this appearance is above average - it's not your typical boring "hey go buy our single! kthnx" that happens on some shows. There were legitimate funny and awesome moments and I had a great time watching. I mostly credit Momo for that. Some people don't like her, but you can't deny that she makes TV appearances (and anything, really) interesting.

- H!P 2011 Winter Blu-ray

I already released the A-gana bonus footage last week and very soon I will be releasing the main concert. All three versions are done encoding. The 408p version is done uploading and I still have to upload some of the 720p version and all of the 1080p version. B-kkuri is put on hold because of the below video.

- Re;Buono Blu-ray concert

Both the normal DVD and the Blu-ray version releases tomorrow and my copy should be here sometime between Friday-Monday. When I get it, it will become priority #1.

- Cutie Land 5

Since I'm done with the A-gana concert, I'll focus on getting this done. I have one of three discs done and the other two should be done by tomorrow-ish but I don't know when I can upload them because the A-gana 720p and 1080p upload takes a while to complete.

- Ai no Dangan sub

Ai no Dangan is so awesome I had to sub it. It's 100% done and uploaded and I will blog about it later today.

Fansubbing group Twilight Paradise Fansubs (TPF for short) is looking for new members. I recently joined to help out, but right now it's just me and the group's leader, SFG.

We're currently working hard to bring you guys new subtitled goodies, but we can't do it alone! If you have experience doing any fansubbing job - translation, timing, typesetting, editing, encoding, whatever - then we could use you! Right now the plan is to just gather a bunch of talented individuals and continue on as a group from there.

Even if you don't have experience, you still have a chance to join. I have done virtually every fansubbing job listed above and have trained a handful of individuals to do those jobs. If you have a burning passion for H!P and some free time, then you probably still can help us out. Read on for more information.

Buying H!P merchandise - a guide to online shopping part one

I've been meaning to do this post for a long time now so I'm glad that I'm finally taking time out to do it. This post is meant to inform anyone who wants to know how to support their favorite H!P group (or any Japanese artist).

Chances are that if you are reading this blog, you don't live in Japan, which means you probably can't simply walk into a store and buy what you want (must be nice!). Despite that setback, there are still many ways that you can fulfill your dreams of having a decked out room full of H!P goodies.

In this first part I will talk about how you can buy H!P media (CDs, DVDs, and stuff).

Before I begin, here is a quick list of the websites and companies that I will feature in these posts. I will talk about all of the major online retailers that serve foreigners, as well as some off of the beaten path.

For buying CDs, DVDs, and photobooks, there is CDJapan, Amazon Japan, HMV Japan, Yesasia, and Play-Asia. All of those websites are in English (Amazon Japan is mostly Japanese, but if you've ever used the English Amazon website, it's the exact same layout) and have a healthy stock of H!P media.

If actual goods (e.g. T-shirts, towels, photocards, etc) are what you're looking for, HelloStoreUSA is the only English website where you can officially buy those items.

Finally, there are a couple of alternative websites that you can turn to, to buy rare and hard to find H!P items. There's eBay, Yahoo Japan Auctions, e-LineUP, Mall City, Celga, and Noppin (among a couple of others).
