Momoko - Run for Money 4/8/12

Run for Money is totally one of my favorite Japanese shows. If you've never watched it, here are the basics:

A handful of male and female celebrities all gather to play a glorified game of manhunt (basically hide-and-seek and tag mixed together).

But, it's not just any old game. At stake is a yen cash prize as seen in the bottom right corner of the screen.

In the screenshot, the prize is 59,600 yen (about $550), but as each second passes, 200 yen ($2) is added to the prize.

Winning is simple - you just have to survive for 2 hours in the allotted area.

But, of course it isn't quite that easy. As I said before, it's a game of survival - survival from the so called Hunters:

If you see a guy in a suit and glasses (basically an Agent Smith look-alike), then you'd better run and hope that he doesn't see you. Why? Because if he touches you, then you're out and the game is over for you. He's also probably much faster than you are, so finding a good hiding spot is key. And there is never just one Hunter; the game starts with three, with the possibility of (many) more entering in on the fun.

To spice things up, occasionally the contestants are texted instructions for an optional "mission".

The players do not have to take part in the mission, but both success and failure (or simply not taking part in the missions) has consequences. For the first mission, two giant inflatable balls are revealed:

Behind one of them lies another Hunter and behind the other lies a switch that opens up a new area (and thus, more hiding spots). Players have to hold the levers upwards, which inflates the giant ball. They must stand there and hold the lever upward until the ball pops (making them vulnerable to other random Hunters roaming around), revealing the secret behind it.

H!P members have been on this show a few times before, so I'm glad to see Momoko continuing that trend (one of them even won an episode; I won't give anymore details to avoid more spoilers). It's a really long TV show (almost 2 and a half hours), but it's pure entertainment.

A quick note about this encode: it came from a Chinese streaming site (you can see the logo in the top right of the screen), but the quality is pretty good considering.

Morning Musume - On Ryu (2012.04.27)

A 12 minute talk of Risa and 10th gen on On Ryu.

The talk mainly focuses on Risa and her look throughout her Morning Musume years. My favorite is the Kanashimi Twilight look.

I didn't encode this so thanks to the person who did. Also note that the date in the filename is wrong (it says 2011 instead of 2012), so you'll have to fix that after downloading.

C-ute - Melodix talk + perf 4/28/12 720p

C-ute's appearance on Melodix yesterday features a 6 minute talk

and a live performance of Kimi wa Jitensha.

During the talk there is very brief footage from C-ute's current concert tour. At least C-ute's colorful outfit below doesn't look so bad in action.

And I particularly love this outfit:

As for the talk itself, well, Haggy definitely wins with her old man impersonation.

Also apparently Chisato found a time machine or something and became 20 years old.

The live performance is flawless, as expected of C-ute.

They all sounded great,

and looked great as well, in the many close-up shots.

Berikyuu - ZIP! (2012.04.23) 720p

Just in case you didn't already know, it was recently discovered that if one mixes Berryz's Because Happiness and C-ute's Shiawase no Tochuu (both are new songs found on their latest albums) together, a new, hidden song is revealed.

Since this is a news report about the findings, neither Berryz nor C-ute made an appearance on the show, but it's interesting nonetheless. Just in case you had any doubt that Tsunku and the people at UFA are geniuses, this proves it.

[TPF] Berryz on Melodix (3/24/12)

You might remember when I uploaded the unsubbed video, I said that you won't understand much unless you have knowledge of Japanese. Well that's where we come in! The talk portion of this appearance is a sort of game to test how well Berryz knows each other.

A question is asked,

and hopefully the members all write down the same answer. There is also a live performance of Be Genki at the end.

[TPF] C-ute - Musata (2012.04.13)

Last week's Music on Saturday appearance focuses on a Chisato confession about her (as well as the other member's) weight.

It's a pretty interesting (but short) video. Also, lol at the host's face in the screenshot.

Huge CDJapan package GETs

So today I received a huge package from CDJapan. It's definitely the biggest since the large Aichan graduation CD order I made last year.

As you can see above, I got a ton of awesome stuff! Starting with Berryz, I bought two versions of Be Genki and received two posters (the green tubes above) as a result.

The CDs themselves are pretty cool too. It's basically a Berryz version of the superman logo.

And the poster. Their poses are cool~

Close up~

Moving on to C-ute, I got each member's solo version of Kimi wa Jitensha (I opened Airi's version, which is why it looks slightly different).

Anddd the backs.

Finally, I ordered three copies of Renai Hunter.

The CDs for Renai Hunter are cool too.

You guys have no idea how excited I was to open this package to reveal all of the awesomeness (well Chobi does). There's just something so wonderfully amazing (and nerdy) about holding all of those things in my hands, which is why I always push for people to buy physical copies of singles (if possible).

I wonder how soon it will be before I place another giant order like this~

Suzuki Airi Rock'n Buono! 4 Solo Angle

It didn't seem like this would ever appear on the internet so I bought it! I don't have the Miya and Momo versions so hopefully they will show up eventually.

As this is a solo angle, what you see above is pretty much what you'll see throughout the whole concert - nothing but Airi.

Airi's solo angles are always fun to watch because of the random faces she always makes

as well as all the cool things that you don't get to see with the main camera during the concert (though this is true for all of the members' solo angles).

I say this every time I do a solo angle post, but these would be such much better if the camera was zoomed out just a little more, to give us more of a dance shot ver. feel, compared to the close up ver. effect that is standard with these DVDs.

And as usual, there are chapters (click for fullsize):

[ADDP] Buono!'s R E A L Blu-ray (Deadline: May 16)

Buono!'s 2012 Winter Concert Blu-ray releases on May 23rd so I will stop collecting donations for it on the 16th so that I have enough time to place the order.

This time I will also help pay for it so as long as you guys donate at least half, then we'll be able to buy it.

We need 7414yen total for the Blu-ray. (The concert is 5714yen and shipping is 1700yen). That's about $89. As long as you guys can come up with at least $45, then we'll have enough to buy it.

If you'd like to donate, send donations to airiindeshou@gmail.com

Read this post to find out more information about ADDP and remember, all donations of at least $5 enter you in the raffle to win this DVD!

[TPF] Momoiro Clover Z - Shin Domoto Kyoudai 2/5/12 (subbed)

That's right, it's a non-Hello! Project release for once! Of course, the primary focus will always be on H!P, but it's always nice to take a break from working on the same thing all the time, especially for an awesome video like this.

In this 26 minute TV appearance, Momoiro Clover Z talks about various things, like their "chubby Manager-san" (who apparently looks like Peter Griffin, but maybe that's just me),

and discussing how they are different from other idol groups.

From there, they move onto special talents, like a horse imitation,

and finally to a reaction test where the members each picked some item (usually food, like really spicy curry) that would allow them to show off the most awesome reaction.

This is our other new editor's (DokiDoki12) first video!
