Airii~n Deshou?! Monthly Wrap Up (April 2011 Edition)

I know that because I make so many blog posts, it is very easy to miss something. So I am going to make a post at the end of each month highlighting some of the posts of that month.

April is the perfect time to start this new series because this is the 64th post for the month (a new Airii~n Deshou?! record).

I just have to start off talking about my April Fools Day post. Talking to one of my friends that loves AKB gave me the general idea. I started planning weeks in advance and even got that friend to help out a bit. At the last minute I scrapped the idea because I really didn't feel like finishing, but some more convincing finally made me commit to it. That post also inspired me to make a couple of changes to the blog (new fonts, banner, background picture, and colors), so there definitely was tons of positives that came out of it.

What could very well be Aichan's last photobook as a member of Morning Musume released earlier this month and I have some photobook preview pictures as well as the making of DVD.
9th Gen's first concert tour kicked off this month, so we got to see the tour setlist. I didn't like it so much, but I'll wait for the DVD to pass the final judgement.

C-ute - Int'l After School Ep 1 720p HD

This is the same episode that I blogged about earlier, except it was encoded from a high quality 1920x1080i TV rip.

Visit the other post for many more screenshots and more information on what this is.

S/mileage - Koi ni Booing Buu! Music Japan Talk + Perf 720p HD

On April 24th, S/mileage appeared on Music Japan for a talk segment and performed their new single, Koi ni Booing Buu!

The talk segment involves some old guy teaching S/mileage and Perfume how to smile better. It's actually more entertaining and funnier than it sounds.

They take a short break from the talk for the performance.

Airi's 6th PB cover revealed

Titled Meguru Haru, Airi's sixth photobook (which is the first of two, being released in a two month span) now has a cover.

Nice!

C-ute - International After School ep 1 screenshots + download link

So Thursday evening, the first episode of Int'l After School aired on NHK World, a Japanese TV station aimed at foreigners interested in Japan. C-ute, along with WISE (a J-R&B artist) and special guest VERBAL (part of the J-R&B duo m-flo) hosted the show.

Since NHK World was created with the foreign demographic in mind, this show is done in both English and Japanese (and the Japanese parts are subtitled into English).

C-ute live on NHK in 2 hours

If you remember, at the beginning of this month it was announced that C-ute would be hosts (or something) on the NHK World show International After School.

At 8:30 AM Japan time (that's 7:30 PM US Eastern), it will air and you can watch live online at NHK World's steam here:

Thanks to the H!O twitter and the C-ute staff twitter for the heads up.

S/mileage - Koi ni Booing Buu! Limited DVDs

S/mileage's new single released yesterday (and it debuted at #6 on the Oricon charts), which means we get to see the contents of the limited DVDs!

On the Limited A DVD is the Dance Shot Ver., on the Limited B DVD is the Boo Ver. (where the girls wear the pig accessories), and on the Limited C DVD is the Black Ver. (a completely random version where they all are wearing black)

Kikkawa Yuu - Kawaii Girl Japan (subbed)

Kikka was featured on the Kawaii Girl Japan website.

The Kawaii girl Japan website added English subtitles, which is cool.

Tagging along on Chisato, Mai, and Nakky's date

A couple of weeks ago, Chisa, Mai, and Nakky all went on a date together.

From a Chisato blog post,

Today,
Nakkii, me and Mai had a date somewhere!
It's been a while since the three of us had a date
It was troublesome passing around the small camera
to take pictures but it was fun
Shortly thereafter, Chisato says that the date will air on an episode of the new HelloPro! Time TV show.

Looking forward to it!

Translation via risusaTEN.

Takahashi Ai - Sukkiri (April 21, 2011)

A short segment on Aichan's play.

We get to see Aichan's new hairstyle in video form, too.

UFZS to debut soon

We don't know when exactly, but their producer tweeted the following:

UFZS ついにデビュー決まる!

Which translates to: "UFZS's debut has finally be decided!"

Yay for them.

BTW, they are still winning that Melodix popularity contest.

Now all they have to do is announce a single and I'll be a happy camper.

C-ute - Momoiro Sparkling radio rip

C-ute's new single, Momoiro Sparkling, was aired on a C-ute radio show earlier today.

Sounds okay. It's like a more upbeat Shouchuu Omimai Moshiagemasu (which isn't a bad thing). Definitely a summer feel to it. Will probably grow on me, but doesn't have an epic feel to it.

Morning Musume - Sukkiri (April 8, 2011)

Another random appearance for Morning Musume to promote Maji Desu ka Ska!

This time it's just Sayu, Aika, and Riho.

It's a pretty short appearance (3 minutes), but there are still a few short epic segments.

Riho pretends like she is in a storm, lol.

Berryz Koubou at Sakura-Con

Yesterday concluded Berryz's first trip to mainland USA. I was unfortunately not able to go (come to the east coast!), so a big thanks to all of the fans and staff who took these wonderful pictures and videos.

Friday was officially day one of Sakura-Con, but the day before, some fans struck gold.

Yes, they ran into Berryz at a random restaurant. How cool (and stalkerish) There is also a slightly longer part here.

H!P's New TV Show: HelloPro! Time Episode 1 screenshots

There was some confusion on whether or not HelloPro! Time would be a new show or just a rebroadcast of Bijo Gaku, but the original news was correct - this is an entirely new show and I think Bijo Gaku is done airing for good.

As great as Bijo Gaku was, this new show seems to be even better.

The first new thing about HelloPro! Time is that each segment features one of the girls as the cameraman. Before the segment, we get some information about the camera-wielding member.

Manochan is first!
What could she be up to?

USTREAMUSUME #2 (April 20, 2011) download link

Morning Musume's second weekly USTREAM episode.

I was unsure if it would be the same members each week, but Gakisan and the 9th gen members are back once again, so that question is answered.

I haven't watched it yet, so no gifs or random screenshots this time.

Also, as you can see the quality isn't great.

And just in case you missed last week's episode: http://airiindeshou.blogspot.com/2011/04/morning-musumes-1st-live-ustream-show.html

Eripon's autograph is now mine!

I started off being indifferent to her, but I've really been liking Ikuta Erina lately. I saw an autographed Eripon Maji Desu ka Ska! poster for sale and I knew I had to buy.

The poster itself is really nice, but Erina's autograph makes it even more awesome.

Kitahara Sayaka to release a single

So in my first post about the Eggs, I talked about Sayaka joining the same label as T-Pistonz+KMC (a group that worked with Berryz doing the theme songs for the Inazuma Eleven anime) and possibly becoming a soloist. Well I am happy to say that is finally coming true.

She now has an official website and will be doing voice acting work for Inazuma Eleven. She will also release a solo single on June 22nd according to the H!O twitter.

Okai Chisato 2010 C-ute Spring Concert Solo Angle

Same deal as yesterday, but with Chisato.

This is Chisato's solo angle of C-ute's 2010 Spring Shocking Live concert. Read my other post for more info about solo angles.

Airi and Reina to star in a new movie

Airi and Reina will both be in a movie titled Vampire Stories.

Actually, as you can see above, it's two movies. Airi will be in the "Brothers" side of the story while Reina stars in the "Chasers" side.

On her blog, Airi describes some of the plot of the Brothers story:
Series of murders have occured within the University circle at a riverbed by the valley...
the protagonist who unexpectedly escaped trouble Sei, (Yagashita Dai) and
Midori the sister who wasn't born in the same family but was raised in it (Suzuki Airi)
find out about news about their friend's deaths on the news on the TV.
Before long, forgetting about his grief, Sei solves the mystery of 5 years ago of the disappearance of his older brother Ai (Katou Kazuki) who suddenly appears infront of him.
Thanks to risusaTEN for the translation. You can read more about the plot there and you can read about Reina's side of the story at Tokyograph and at the official site.

CDJapan has the release date of the DVD for June 22, but it looks like it's just a making of DVD.

Up-Front Girls have a chance to appear on Melodix

Melodix is a pretty hilarious variety show that H!P artists occasionally appear on.

They are running a poll to see which new Idol group is the most popular.

That's right, Up-Front Girls (UFZS + Sengoku Minami) are winning by almost 200 votes!

Unfortunately, you cannot help them out unless you have a Japanese cellphone, but it's nice to see the girls getting some support! I think that whoever wins will get invited to Melodix, which is a huge deal for any new, lesser known group. Even H!P's main acts rarely are invited to Melodix these days (Morning Musume's recent appearance was the first in 6 months), so an appearance would do wonders for their popularity.

Here is an introduction video of them.

Suzuki Airi 2010 C-ute Spring Concert Solo Angle

Here is Airi's solo angle of C-ute's 2010 Shocking Live Spring Concert.

If you don't know what this is, read on.

Could a second Nakky photobook be in the works?

Yesterday, Nakky wrote about a surprise. (thanks to Rokun for the translation)

Today,
I took lots of pictures
for the first time in awhile~
And then later she says,

Everyone,
When I become able to announce it,
I’ll contact you immediately!
Yep, look forward to it !
Could we be seeing another Nakky photobook in the near future? I know of at least one person that approves.

Okai Chisato Solo Live Vol. 2 preview

From the official C-ute channel.

Looks more awesome than the first one. Can't wait to see Kiss Me Aishiteru!

Another Egg says goodbye... for now

It was announced today that Saho Akari also has completed her Egg training.

If you read my post about missing Eggs and are worried about Saho's future, do know that there is hope for her.

All of the Eggs (literally every single one of them) whose whereabouts are unknown (i.e. they probably are normal teens again) left without any official news of their leaving from UFA. All of the Eggs who "completed their Egg training" all had news announcements by UFA and they are all still with the company in some way.

Worst case for Saho would probably be her joining Kitahara Sayaka and Sengoku Minami (and the UFZS girls) in Up-Front Girls and still be associated with UFA. Best case would be a major debut under Hello! Project like Kikkawa Yuu will soon do.

But as for right now, we can only imagine what Saho's future holds. Will she be a soloist? Will a new group be created? Or will she be in Idol limbo with Saya-sama and Minami?

Hello! Project Egg DVD Magazine Vol. 3

This is a somewhat old video, but I have the DVD on my hard drive and I've never made an encode of it so why not.

Because this is old, you get to see former Eggs like Fukumura Mizuki, Kikkawa Yuu, the UFZS members, and all of the lost Eggs before they graduated.

Just in case you missed my other post about graduated and missing Eggs, only 9 of these 22 are still Eggs (though a couple of them broke off to join Up-Front Girls and UFZS).

Here are pictures of all of the Eggs present in this DVD Magazine and their current status with the company:

Graduated; member of Up-Front Girls

Graduated; making her soloist debut with H!P on 5/11

Graduated; member of UFZS

Morning Musume 2011 FC Tour in Hawaii announced

Fanclub newsletter confirms it.

I am very happy that we get to see Morning Musume is Hawaii so soon again (and one more time for Aichan), but also very sad that we don't get to see C-ute (as their Hawaii trip was canceled due to the tsunami).

An Alo-Hello will almost definitely follow. Plus, a photobook or two.

Keitai Kanojo review + plot analysis (spoilers!)

It's been a long time since I reviewed anything, eh?

I finally got a chance to watch Keitai Kanojo last night so here is my review. I wanted to make this post separate from my other post with the download link because this review will contain massive spoilers. I will discuss major plot points and the ending so read at your own risk!

When Keitai Kanojo ("Cellphone Girl") was announced November of last year, I was excited to say the least. My favorite Idol (Suzuki Airi), in my favorite movie genre (horror)? Sounds like a recipe for awesomeness. But, the straight-to-DVD stipulation had me a little worried. Would the movie be as cheaply made as your normal Hello! Project PV? Would the acting be corny? And more importantly, would the story be a rehashed shell that we've seen countless times?

Morning Musume - PON! (April 5, 2011)

On Tuesday of last week, Morning Musume members Michishige Sayumi, Mitsui Aika, and Sayashi Riho appeared on a Japanese morning talk show called PON! to promote Maji Desu ka Ska!

Airi's Keitai Kanojo movie streaming

Last Wednesday Airi's first movie came on DVD, so it goes without saying that I had to encode it.

I have not yet watched it, but I can already tell from skimming through the movie that it's a bloody one. Squeamish people beware.

Unfortunately this movie does not have subtitles, so if you don't understand Japanese then you'll just have to admire Airi's acting skills for an hour.

On the subject of subtitles: if there are any translators out there that wants to work on subbing this, please contact me! I can and will do literally every other fansubbing job (timing, editing, encoding, QC, distro). The only thing holding me back is not knowing enough of the language to translate. So if you can translate Japanese > English, then let me know so that we can make this movie more enjoyable for all of Airi's foreign English speaking fans!

Morning Musume's 1st live USTREAM show

Every week Morning Musume will hold a live USTREAM show. This week featured the 9th Gen as well as Risa. I'm not sure if it'll be the same members each week, though.

This broadcast is mainly talking/Q&A stuff, but there was a random guest appearance also. If you remember the live Ameba appearances that Morning Musume used to do, then you pretty much know exactly what this is about.

Kanon provides the jokes, Erina is KY-ing (Kuuki ga Yomenai, or being unable to read your surroundings), Riho and Mizuki has giggle fits, and Risa is there to corral the kiddies. Even if you know next to nothing about Japanese, if you are a 9th Gen fan, then you should watch. Kanon being silly is worth the watch alone.

S/mileage - Koi ni Booing Buu! full PV

The official S/mileage channel uploaded the full PV last week.

Some people seem to not like this PV nor the song, which I can totally understand, but I think its absolutely adorable.

There are four limited DVDs this time around. On the limited A is the Close Up Ver. Type 1 PV and a Fukumaru Mizuki interview, on the limited B is the Dance Shot Ver. Type 1 PV and a Ikuta Erina Inteview, on the limited C is the Close Up Ver. Type 2 PV and a Sayashi Riho interview, and finally on the limited D is the Dance Shot Ver. Airi Birthday messages (video + blog post)

The C-ute Youtube channel uploaded a birthday message from Airi herself.

From about 1:26 on, she imitates a giraffe. Oh this girl <3

And she (as well as a couple of other members) blogged about her birthday:
Because everyone is here,
I'm here.
Through the songs I love,
I get to meet everyone,
I really believe we've been bounded by a deep bond
Read the full translation and the other member's messages at risusaTEN.

Yajima Maimi - Umikaze e-Hello DVD

Next up in the e-Hello solo DVD series is Maimi's Umikaze DVD.
