Morning Musume - One・two・Three live 720p

Morning Musume performed half of their upcoming double A-side single on a fashion show today and we are able to see it thanks to a fanrecording.

Some people inevitability will express their dislike of this single due to it being a heavy Reina lead and/or due to the synthesized style of it, but I have no problem with either.

Reina is one of Morning Musume's best singers left and is also the most experienced (even moreso than Sayu because of Reina's experience singing lead a lot before) and in a group full of (albeit talented) preteens, she brings stability. Though I suppose it's not a particularly huge deal in a song like this where their voices are electronically edited, but still, future Musume songs will likely heavily feature Reina as well.

The style of song is quite different from what Morning Musume is used to releasing (for singles especially), but them being able to pull it off so well (and again, with a bunch of young members) gives me faith that even with most of its senpai members gone, Morning Musume will be fine moving forward. This song will take some getting used to for fans who don't like this type of music, but the other song on this single will surely be a completely different style.

Personally, I'm really enjoying Morning Musume right now. I definitely miss Risa, Aika (and of course Aichan), but Renai Hunter and now One two Three are both winners in my book. I didn't like Pyoko Pyoko Ultra as much, but I will admit that it was a nice genki and carefree song to ease the new members into the idol world, just as Maji desu ka ska! did with 9th gen before moving on to the awesomeness that was Only you.

Kitahara Sayaka's first solo single full concert rip

Earlier today, Kitahara Sayaka debuted her single Yappa Seishun at an Inazuma Eleven event.

It's not the best quality, but it is the full song. Here is a better quality version from the Anime's ending theme, but it's only half of the song:

It definitely sounds like an Anime song, which is good and bad. It's good because, well, like I guessed this is a good direction for her. It's bad because I find most Anime related songs to lack substance. However Sayaka's voice really impressed me here, especially in the live version. In H!P Egg concerts she always sounded like her voice was unstable and would go out of tune at any moment. But, she sounded pretty good on that live recording. I'm really happy for her!

If you want to help Sayaka-sama's debut single as a soloist do well (and she needs it because seiyuu singles almost never sell well), you can buy it!

Morning Musume - Only You (concert rip)

A concert rip of Morning Musume's new single is out!

I've only heard it a handful of times, but it is an instant hit in my mind. It's heavy Ai/Reina, but it's one of Aichan's last singles so I don't mind. I didn't really like the style Maji Desu ka Ska! had (though I understand that something like that was needed for 9th gen to settle in). This is exactly the type of music that I think Morning Musume does best - living somewhere in between emomusume and genkimusume.

And if you want to support Morning Musume, you can buy it. Let's get Aichan another #1 single before she leaves!

C-ute - Momoiro Sparkling radio rip

C-ute's new single, Momoiro Sparkling, was aired on a C-ute radio show earlier today.

Sounds okay. It's like a more upbeat Shouchuu Omimai Moshiagemasu (which isn't a bad thing). Definitely a summer feel to it. Will probably grow on me, but doesn't have an epic feel to it.

Kitahara Sayaka to release a single

So in my first post about the Eggs, I talked about Sayaka joining the same label as T-Pistonz+KMC (a group that worked with Berryz doing the theme songs for the Inazuma Eleven anime) and possibly becoming a soloist. Well I am happy to say that is finally coming true.

She now has an official website and will be doing voice acting work for Inazuma Eleven. She will also release a solo single on June 22nd according to the H!O twitter.

UFA cheers on Japan with a charity single

Virtually every artist and group Up Front Works has ever had (131 according to the H!O twitter) came together for a single cause - to sing Ai wa Katsu and raise some money for Japan.

If that song sounds familiar, it's because C-ute and Manoeri sang it on H!P's super awesome 2009 cover album.

The song will soon be available on iTunes (I'll edit this post when it becomes available). The proceeds will almost definitely go to charity so you should totally buy it if you can! EDIT: It is now available.

There will also be a charity event on the 9th which will feature a ton of UFA related artists including C-ute, S/mileage, Manoeri, H!P Eggs, Ayaya, The Possible, Canary Club, Kaori, Tsuji, Yossie, Rika, Koharu, Kikka, Mikitty, Ogawa Makoto, UFZS, Yaguchi, Maeda Yuki (former awesome H!P enka artist), Noto Arisa (former leader of H!P eggs), Miyoshi Erika (former v-u-den member), Karen (awesome TNX enka artist), and Tsunku himself. Read here for a full list of artists that will be in attendance. It's going to be epic.

Maji Desu ka Ska! debuts at #5 + how you can help for free!

9th Gen's first single as Morning Musume members opened the week at the #5 spot with SDN48 and KARA dominating, as expected. Estimated sales are 17,000 for today, which is excellent.

But anyway, onto how you can help Morning Musume sell even more.

Of course, buying the single is the number one way to support them, but you can still do something else. As of right now, Morning Musume has or will appear on the following shows: ON RYU, Melodix, PON!, Happy Music, and Music Japan.

That is excellent promotion because those are some pretty good TV shows to be on. But, there is one major show missing - Music Station. MS is invitation/request only, so no one can just buy their way on the show. And that is where you come in. You can request Morning Musume to appear on Music Station with their online form.

S/mileage - Koi ni Booing Buu! PV preview

A 30 second commercial aired on TV showing off some of S/mileage's new single PV.

I love playful S/mileage. Seeing a pig themed PV with them dressed up as pigs and playing around and just having a good time is entertaining to watch.

If you like this song, you can always buy it, buu~

New release dates

Some of the delayed releases now have new release dates.

Morning Musume - Maji Desu ka Ska Single (4/6)

C-ute - Chou Wonderful 6 album (4/6)

Morning Musume - Rival Survival Blu-ray (4/13)

H!P - 2011 Winter Concert DVDs (4/26)

From the official site.

I'll be interested in seeing who Morning Musume's new competition is and what their chances of getting a #1 are. A quick search reveals they will be facing a Johnny's guy, Tsuyoshi Domoto, but he seems to sell around 45,000 which is certainly beatable.

Heroine ni Narou ka first week sales

After getting their first daily #1, news of Berryz's Heroine ni Narou ka single's first week sales are out. They sold 22,428 copies. Its about 1000 lower than Shining Power (23,450), but significantly higher than Maji Bomber (13,958). They are becoming consistent again, which is great.

They also are ranked #7 for the week, which is pretty cool considering their 7th anniversary just passed.

If you haven't got your copy yet and you want to help support Berryz Koubou, then you can always buy it!

Berryz are #1!!

For today at least, Berryz Koubou are ranked #1 on the Oricon daily charts, selling 5893 copies.

To my knowledge, this is the first time Berryz has ever gotten a #1 ranking (even for one day). C-ute did it right before Erika left (Everyday Zekkouchou!!) and of course Morning Musume has accomplished that feat multiple times.

Congrats Berryz - you deserve it! Especially outselling the likes of Arashi and AKB48 (if just for one day). After a couple of rough spots (I didn't really like Maji Bomber or Shining Power), Heroine ni Narou ka is right up there with some of my favorite Berryz songs of all time.

If you want to help this single outsell Shining Power (about 8000 more copies are needed to be sold), then you can buy it!

Maji Desu ka ska's B-side preview

Thanks to amped for the original mp3 file. I edited the audio a bit to make it a little better.

The song is called Motto Aishite Hoshii no and will be the b-side on Morning Musume's 45th single titled Maji Desu ka ska.

If you like what you hear (I do!), you can pre-order the single, which comes out on the 23rd.
