Quick note: this will be my last contest, as I'm 99% sure I'll be closing Airii~n deshou?! for good, but more on that after this contest is over.
So remember the autographs that I got from meeting Kikka at AWA? Well as I said, I'll be giving away the black autographed T-shirt as a 1st place prize. I might also give away the photoset if I think another person is deserving of a prize.
To win:
1. Create/do something as long as it relates to Kikkawa Yuu (it can be a dance cover, fandub, fanart, fanfic, essay, OPV, or anything).
2. Email your entry to airiindeshou@gmail.com with the subject "Contest #9: Kikka autographs!"
3. Submit your entry before December 8th, 11:59 PM U.S. Eastern Time.
I'll announce the winner(s) on that Sunday and blog about Airii~n deshou?!'s future afterwards.
Contest #8: Honoring Niigaki is now officially over!
Thanks to everyone who sent in entries, we had the most submissions since the banner contest that I held last year. And not only that, but they all were truly great. So, like last time, I had the toughest time narrowing down all of the entries to just two (yep, there are indeed two winners). Thankfully this time I had Chobineko here to help give another perspective on things.
After reading, looking at, and/or watching every entry, there was one that stood out even among so many great ones, for many reasons. First of all, I have to applaud this person for their brevity. It's all too easy to go on and on with something, but being able to get your point across in such a quick way is really impressive. So much that Chobi and I both had the exact same reaction when we first played the video: "Only 30 seconds? Really?"
But, 30 seconds was all that this person needed to show something really cute and original. I'm talking about Moon's video here:
That video is the reason why the two of us agreed that Moon deserves first place, no question.
Moving on, there were quite a few others that deserved second place (you guys truly impressed us, really!), but we had to pick just one. This person combined a really funny story with appropriate pictures that helped the story come to life. This person managed to make us both laugh from the story's humor and smile from the originality of it all. The person that I'm talking about is Monkey Pop! Moon and Monkey Pop definitely are the most original people to take part in an Airii~n deshou?! contest, I think. But, you can read her entry and draw your own conclusions (it's a bit long, but definitely worth the read).
In the studio of the TV show “idolove”.
Presenter: “Hey everyone! Are you ready? Today
is a special day for all of you, Idolovers! And especially for Morning Musume.
fans… Of course, I’m talking about Niigaki Risa and Mitsui Aika’s gradua…”
???: “RISA! RISA! RISA! RISA! RISA! RISA!”
Presenter : “… What is that?… Hm hm, sorry! So,
what was I saying? Oh yes, today is…”
A crowd
of people all with green T-shirts invades the studio.
Presenter: “WHO ARE ALL THESE MOTHERFU…?!!
Everyone, go out! We just need ONE guest! Where is she?”
A girl with a green T-shirt stands out from the
crowd raising her arms.
Girl: “Hey dude! It is me! All these people are
my friends!”
Presenter: “Oh, w… we… well. Please tell your
friends they have to going out.”
Girl: “Of course!” (to the crowd) “Everyone!
Don’t disturb the show but stay in the studio to put ambience!”
Presenter: “WHAAAAAT?!!!”
The crowd calms down and everyone sits on
spectators seats. The girl and the presenter are in the middle of the studio,
in front of cameras.
Presenter: “Hum… Well everyone! Excuse us for
this little… trouble! Let’s continue! Today with me, a fangirl, no, a lover, an
admirer of the wonderful Niigaki Risa!”
Audience: “GAKI-SAAAAAAAAAAAAN!”
Presenter (annoyed): “As you want… And here is… Monkey Pop!”
Monkey Pop: “It is me! Haha~ Hello everyone!
But please dude, those names don’t fit me… I’m just “a girl who loves and
supports Gaki-san with an admiration bigger than all known and unknown
universes.””
Presenter: “Sure, JUST that. Anyway… Can we
start this interview about your opinion regarding Niigaki Risa?”
Audience: “GAKI-SAAAAAAAAAAAAN!”
Presenter: “Gosh… Are they going to scream each
time I pronounce Niigaki Risa’s name?”
Audience: “GAKI-SAAAAAAAAAAAAN!”
Presenter: NUYCUEHZEYUGZIRRKE. *bashes head on
table*
“Egao ni namida ~THANK YOU! DEAR MY FRIENDS~”
song sounds and lights turn into green. The interview is going to start!
Presenter: “Hem hem… Act as if you didn’t see
anything, dear Idolovers… And now our fan interview about Niiga… Morning
Musume. 7th leader staaaaarts! Monkey Pop, what do you think about Niiga…
this girl’s place among all of Momusu.’s members?”
Monkey Pop: “Well… You don’t begin with a
question easy to answer!... You know, the group’s members have never really
been on an equal footing. I mean, you can compare “Morning Coffee” and “Renai
Hunter”, it will be the same: some girls are always just in front of the camera
while a big part of them stays in the back. Risa has been in the middle since
she joined. She has never been as popular as her generation-mate Ai-chan,
however she has been more than Makochii. However, to me, it’s not that which
determinates a member’s place, even if it’s important.
Presenter: “So what is it? What makes this girl
important – or not – within the group?
Monkey Pop: “Eeeeeeh guy! What is this “or
not”??! Of course she’s important! Every, each member has her importance and
her qualities! Excuse me if I’m not objective when listing Gaki-san’s
qualities, haha… Well, this girl is a goddess! She’s beautiful, funny, kind to
the others, has an angel’s voice, dances with talent… She loves Momusu. more
than everything in the world. And she loved it for a long time even before
entering it. She asserts she didn’t have any singing and dancing experience in
2001. She said it herself in her graduation memorial DVD: it’s her passion for
the band which made her chosen for the 5th generation. But Tsunku
surely saw in her something more than the crazy love she had for Morning
Musume. To my mind, she was, at that time, like a flower which was waiting to
bloom. Or a star still too small to shine strongly. I’m sure you agree with me,
man. You only have to look who she is now! A wonderful woman full of talent! The
flower has bloomed, the star shines powerfully. Have you ever heard her voice?”
Presenter: “Yeah… It’s really powerful.”
Monkey Pop: “True! And very deep too. She
surely has one of the best voices of Hello! Pro. And… during her last months in
the group, she was the last remaining one from Momusu. golden era. I mean if
you consider this period came to its end in 2001 and not 2000. She is also the
one with the longest tenure and one of the group’s leader, even though it was
her role for only few months. Ah, something else… She wanted to leave Morning
Musume. and Hello! Pro together with Ai-chan, but she accepted to stay a little
more in order to train and support 10th generation members. Isn’t it
the sign Gaki-san is a responsible person who thinks of the others before of
herself? To all this, add her funny character, for example as Reaction Queen; add
her great beauty, her deep eyes, her charm; add her expressive dancing and, we
have already said it, her singing full of feelings; add her limitless love for
Momusu. and fans. Well, how do you want someone like that not to be important?
Plus, her evolution is incredible: the little girl who thought she was not able
to sing and dance and be a real member of the group became this incredible and
loveable woman. Aah I’m gonna cry, haha.”
Presenter: “No, you are going to make ME cry!
We can feel you know very well Risa!”
Audience: “GAKI-SAAAAAAAAAAAAN!”
Presenter: “Oh wow, I had forgotten them. Well…
and what about you? What are your own feelings towards her? Her importance to
you?”
Monkey Pop: “Oh my God, I’m going to recite a
novel! So, let’s see… Gaki-san is certainly the idol I respect, admire and love
the most in the world. Really, this is not something I can doubt about. She has
that unique role in my existence, a so important role that no one could destroy
it. She lights up my everyday life and gives me this happiness that each person
who feels the same as me, no matter who their Risa is, knows. Well, I guess
Eripon agrees with me, hahaha. Actually, I don’t know what I’d be if Gaki-san
wasn’t here for me. Maybe someone without courage or determination. Or maybe
someone simply living her life and never thinking, not even one second, about
the things I am able to think about now. Really, I don’t know. The only thing I
am sure of is that my current life is better than all the other lives I could
have known if I didn’t had the chance to meet her. Yeah guy, I am sure of that.
With her by my side singing such meaningful songs, I have discovered what are
truly hope, friendship, love, fight, happiness…”
Presenter: “So, in one word, she…”
Monkey Pop: “She makes me happy. Finally,
that’s just that. She makes me happy and thanks to her, I have been able to
know what real life is when you live it deeply and move forward to reach your
dreams.”
Presenter: “Aw, poor my ears… Really, we feel
your love. What you have just said is really beautiful. I think it’s a nice way
to finish the show… If you wanna let a video message to her, you can turn towards
the camera there and tell her whatever you want.”
Monkey Pop *turns*: “Yay! Gaki-san!
Congratulations on your graduation! Have you seen all this path you have walked
on for almost eleven years? I’m so proud of you. I’m so proud to tell the whole
world I love you. Thank you for everything! For your talent, for your smile, for
your love…. Gaki-san, you are the best! As you are here for me and for all of
us, I’ll be here for you, no matter how much kilometers we are separated by! Thank
you, thank you, thank you! I LOOOOVE YOOOOU!”
Presenter: “Haha, somehow it’s funny. So,
everyone! The show is coming to its end! We wish a nice continuation to both
Niigaki Risa and Mitsui Aika and we pray for their happiness and so on! Bye bye
dear Idoloveeeers!”
Monkey Pop: “Just, wait a second…”
Presenter: “Hm?”
Monkey Pop: “Do you know what Risa means? It’s
a Spanish word.”
It's contest time again! Of course I would like to give away something Aika related as well, but I really don't have anything of hers to give. So, this contest is all about Risa.
The winner will receive this:
Originally I planned to just give away the Gakisan graduation CD, but since I have one last copy of Aichan's to give away, I decided to include that too! The first place winner will get both!
IF (and only if) there is another person that Chobi and I deem worthy, that second place winner will be awarded a regular edition of Renai Hunter.
Theme:
I want you to capture Niigaki Risa's importance. You can interpret that however you want. For example, it can be about Risa's importance to Morning Musume, her importance to the idol world in general, or just her importance to you. What makes Risa special? That's what I want you to capture in your entry.
Rules:
- You can do whatever you want, whether it's a story, fanfic, essay, drawing, graphic, or anything.
- You can make up to two entries if you want, but no more than that.
- Email your entry to airiindeshou@gmail.com with the subject "Contest 8: Honoring Niigaki".
- Submit your entry before 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time Saturday May 26, 2012.
Contest #7 ended a few weeks ago and the two people who won already were notified but I never made that information public so here goes!
The prize was one of these:
I think this contest was one of the harder ones because of the strict theme, but there were still some pretty creative entries. Graphics dominated this particular contest so it's no surprise that both winners entered in a graphic of some sort (well one winner did a fandub as well).
So as I said in the contest detail post, from now on both Chobi and I will be judging the contests so the winners had to impress the both of us. This time around since I had multiple copies to give away, I let Chobi pick a winner and I picked a winner so there isn't really a 1st or 2nd place, just two 1st place winners this time.
The person whose entry I liked the most was Emily's:
and Chobi's winner was Ran-chan:
Contest #8 will be somewhat similar, except that it will be open to everyone so stay tuned for that!
I'm so late with this, I know. I said I'd do this months ago lol. But anyway, I still have a few extra copies of Aichan's graduation single that I said I would give away, so here I am!
This contest is only open to people who took part in my past contests, but didn't win.
I will get back to "normal" contests where anyone can participate (starting with Gakisan's graduation single next month), but for now, this is for non-winners of past contests only.
For this contest, there is no theme. Draw, write a story, make a nice graphic, dance, sing - do whatever you want!
Rules:
1. You must have taken part in ANY of my past contests, but did NOT win.
2. Send all entries to airiindeshou@gmail.com with the subject "Contest #7 entry".
3. Submit your entry by Friday, April 6th 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.
There will be at least one winner, with the possibility of up to 3 different people winning so do your best!
Both Chobi and I will be judging the contests together from now on, so be prepared to impress the both of us!
This is Ayachii's second fanfic and the last of the three winning fanfics by Ayachii and Chobi. The ending is truly brilliant.

What the
hell…
Come’on, this is great!
You know that’s not…
Geez! Being a freak at this moment?!
Ok, Ok! Lemme---
Hey, not that much!
I thought you want me to---!
Sayumi is
pissed. Whoever is trying to do a mischief during her nice, hot spring bath is
not doing a good job to at least keep it a secret to their selves. Grabbing a
bucket of water, she marched out of the
bath (not forgetting to wrap herself a towel of course).
Indeed,
there were guys arguing in whispers (which is such a failure to be called a
whisper) with each other for that one little whole on her bath’s wall.
I've always been a loner. I've never loved anyone, neither my family nor my neighbors. I don't understand the concept of love and I don't feel the need. I love solitude.
However, I was struck by several happy events in my life, and the one I'm going to talk about is one of them. A woman, we shouldn't name her for the moment. I want your mind to be touched by her incredible beauty as neutral as was mine. Consider the woman as unknown.
My story begins on September 30, in Japan. Disorientation from the country you're living in, I have no doubt about it, and that's what makes the charm of this meeting.
Fascinated by Japanese culture since my childhood, I, after a long and hard time, managed to pay me a trip to the country that attracted me so much... I arrived on September 15, to leave the 30th. Normally. Because it happened to me something that wasn't actually planned.
On September 30 so, I was walking quietly in Tokyo. A sumptuous city, incredible to see at least once in your life with your own eyes. I didn't know where I was going, I was alone in the middle of Japan, wondering myself if I was out of place with my typical Western physical appearence.
After having admired far and wide that city, provided with a million things, night fell and I had to go. Reluctantly, of course, Tokyo is a marvel when it's illuminated... But my shinkansen was arriving soon, so I had to hurry, though I didn't really want, especially today which was my last real day here. I like Japan. But, unfortunately, I won't have the chance to live there fully one day. We can still dream, and that is what had happened to me, a dream. Or rather a laugh. A huge laugh from behind me. A laugh so melodious that I lost my words. A hearty and clear laugh, that fill your heart with happiness and makes you feel so good that you're wondering if this is real.
Curiosity was ahead of me, so I turned. A girl. A girl with a particularly attractive charm. The first thing I saw was her smile, more precious than the most brilliant and gorgeous jewelry. She was wearing sunglasses, I wondered why. As soon as she saw me, she hastened to turn to another girl - I can only assume it was one of her friends - with some embarrassment, as if she was afraid that her laughter could bore me. I didn't know why, or the consequences it would have, but I decided to follow the girl. I rode the shinkansen she seemed to be waiting. Doesn't matter where, I would go.
Both winners (Ayachii and Chobi) were fine with me posting their fanfics, so here they are. There isn't really an easy way to post three long fanfics in one post, so I separated them into three posts.
First place went to Ayachii, who sent in two fanfics. My favorite is first: her vampire fic featuring Aichan, Airi, and a surprise guest at the end.
Melancholy of the Night
Heavens
cried heavily that night. Its countless tears racing to touch the earth,
letting the coldness of sorrow be felt and known across the land. Yet the
murmurs of every droplet clasping down never made it through the room, only to
be seen without recognition by someone who never needed warmth as it sat in
dark emptiness.
Takahashi Ai
watched the window be drenched on the scourging rain. Night is dark, darker
than it should be with thickly clouded full moon. Yet she’s not afraid, she
felt no concern. Silently she sat still in her own chamber, barely distinguished
with the blackness comfortably settling with her.
She can feel
her coming. Her scent is unmistakable. A scent that haunts her every single
night, not failing to stain her sense with impatience… of wanting it to just
vanish as soon as possible. But she know better of herself, to tame the
animalistic instinct roaring within her. She had often conversed with this
human, and had successfully avoided to cause any phenomenon every time. Night
will pass by, and so this being, like its daily routine of passing by her
chamber’s door. Tonight was fated to be different though.
The door
cracked slightly open, and a lamp peeked behind it walked in, poorly
illuminating a girl that held it. Takahashi can clearly tell that she’s wearing
her usual skimpy maid outfit which often exposes those creamy thighs to her.
Contest #6: Show me your writing skills is now complete and I have decided on the winners!
As someone who likes to write, I thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's entries. As usual, there were a few that really stood out and I managed to narrow it down to two winners.
I really wanted to do this contest a lot earlier but I didn't have the money to ship anything out until now and I didn't want to keep the winners waiting this long for their prize. So, here's Airii~n deshou?!'s 6th contest.
The prize is this:
One of Aichan's version of her last single, brand new/unopened. As I have more than one copy, there can and probably will be multiple winners in this contest.
To win all you have to do is write me something - anything. It can be a fanfic (I love fanfics, hinthint), an essay, a story, a poem, anything. There is only one rule:
1. It must involve Aichan in some way. It doesn't have to be about Morning Musume and it's fine if it has non-Morning Musume characters, but Aichan has to have a big part in the story or essay or whatever.
Entries are due by 11:59 AM EST Friday November 11th. You have a little extra time to send in your entries this time, so don't be late!
Please email your entries to airiindeshou@gmail.com and have the subject say "Contest #6 entry" to avoid it going to the spam folder.
By popular demand, here are the banners than placed 4th-11th. These banners did not win anything, but because they were all really awesome, they will be automatically entered to win in Contest #7, which will be a random drawing (more on contest #6 and #7 later).
Again, I don't know everyone's names so I'm just using the first part of your email addresses.
4th Place was ryochan:
Ah~ ryochan you came so close to 3rd place with this banner. There really isn't anything wrong with it. I just thought the other three people did a little better. I really love the font you chose, the picture, and the lyrics in the background. It's a nice touch.
5th place was Andykamezou:
Andy sent in a couple of banners similar to the one above, but with minor changes. This one was my favorite and you, too, came pretty close to winning. Again, nothing wrong with this banner at all. Your only problem was the competition was so tough this time around.
In total, 69 (!) different people entered. That is by far a new Airiindeshou record (in previous contests, no more than 15 people have ever entered), so be proud of yourselves! But, unfortunately that meant that competition was also the toughest that its ever been. I had the hardest time narrowing down all of those banners - seriously at least 12 people did well enough to win.
So, I had to eliminate some really, really great banners. I managed to get it down to 12 before I got stuck and that was when I realized I couldn't just pick one; that would've been impossible. That's why I picked three winners!
First place goes to Mirai!
The reason why I allowed people to make multiple banners was to not give everyone an unlimited amount of chances; but rather it was to see who could create greatness not only once, but many times (of course, it wasn't a requirement - there were plenty of amazing single banners). And Mirai did just that. Mirai didn't create four banners just because. She (...you're a she right? If not, then sorry~) had a plan - one for each season. As soon as I get time, Airiindeshou will undergo some minor changes to implement Mirai's fall banner.
Here is one of Mirai's other banners - the spring one:
Over the past couple of weeks I will be running a couple of different contests, so you'll have multiple chances to win. So, if you suck at Photoshop, don't worry!
The prize is this:
No, not all of them (too lazy to get them back off the shelf and take another picture). You'll get your choice of either: one of the regular edition CDs (very top) or one of the Aichan editions (very bottom).
So how do you win? It's simple - just make me a banner for this blog.
Rules:
1. The picture needs to be of Airi and Airi only.
2. It needs to have my blog name (Airii~n deshou?!) on the banner.
That's it! Just as long as it's Airi and says Airii~n deshou?! then you're good. Take a look at Raffi's blog if you need an example of what I'm looking for. I don't really care about the size - just make it somewhat close to the size of my current banner (wider would be nice but not required).
Entries are due by Saturday, September 24th 11:59 PM US Eastern Time. Please email your entries to airiindeshou@gmail.com
Raffi is having his first contest over at his blog and is giving away a Maasa photocard. You don't have to do anything special to win - just post a comment.
My next contest won't be for a while, so now's your chance to win something!
The (extended) deadline has now passed and I've made my decision. And it was far from easy; I must say this was the best batch of entries that I've ever gotten. I'm glad I have a second place prize, but even that's not enough because at least 3 of the others who didn't win this contest could have won my other contests. It was really close!
I extended my Ai no Dangan contest deadline by one day (it originally was going to end yesterday), so you have roughly 12 hours to enter if you haven't already!
Today I'm starting my 4th contest! The prize is this:
The regular edition of Berryz Koubou's Ai no Dangan single - still brand new.
But wait, there's more:
Looking through some of my newer photo purchases revealed some duplicates. So, the second place winner will get three Miya/Maiha L-size photos!
This contest will be very similar to my first contest. You can do whatever you want whether it's singing, dancing, fanart, a fanfic or whatever. Just as long as it fits this contest's theme - Ai no Dangan. So, send in your Ai no Dangan fandubs/dance covers/fanfics or anything just as long as its Ai no Dangan related!
Entries are due by Friday July 1st 11:00 PM US Eastern Time. Post them here or email me at airiindeshou@gmail.com (remember to tell me your name too!).
