[TPF] Aichan on Coming Soon!! (subbed) download link

Subtitled version of Aichan's solo appearance on Nakai-kun's Coming Soon!! One more Aichan/Morning Musume video later!

Morning Musume's new look

As we enter Aichan's last day as Morning Musume's leader, the 10th generation winners were revealed at one of the 29th's concerts:

[TPF] Morning Musume on Music Japan (2011.09.11)

Seeing as it's now tomorrow (the 30th) in Japan, we at TPF have a special mini-release spree to honor Aichan's last day as a Morning Musume member!

Wanna see more subtitled videos? Translators are needed!

TPF is once again recruiting (well, we never stopped, but we're pretty much set at the other positions. That is, unless you are a better typesetter than me, which isn't that hard to do because I'm horrible at it). This time, we really could use another translator or two (or more; don't be shy!).

There are so many videos we'd like to work on, but SFG (our leader) is the only translator we have. We could literally double the amount of things we could release if we just had another reliable translator.

You don't even have to be fluent in Japanese to be a translator. You just need a pretty good understanding of the language.

So, if you are interested, please either leave a comment here or contact me at airiindeshou@gmail.com!

(Picture not related; I just love MiyaSaki)

Minor changes finished

As you can see, I made some changes to this blog, with the highlight being one of Mirai's winning banners. The color scheme is obviously now green and I made some changes to most of the fonts as well. Everything else is the same, but if I broke something, please let me know. Airiindeshou will likely undergo a major site redesign sometime in the middle of 2012 (it was scheduled for this year's 1 year anniversary but it's no where near finished).

S/mileage on Coming Soon 720p download link

Talk and performance on Nakai-kun's Coming Soon!! from today.

It's 5 minutes and 201 MB.

Download link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KPWAOD2Q

Or: http://www.multiupload.com/28KIENT3UE

I'll be encoding the whole show soon (probably tomorrow).

Contest #5: 4th through 11th place banners

By popular demand, here are the banners than placed 4th-11th. These banners did not win anything, but because they were all really awesome, they will be automatically entered to win in Contest #7, which will be a random drawing (more on contest #6 and #7 later).

Again, I don't know everyone's names so I'm just using the first part of your email addresses.

4th Place was ryochan:

Ah~ ryochan you came so close to 3rd place with this banner. There really isn't anything wrong with it. I just thought the other three people did a little better. I really love the font you chose, the picture, and the lyrics in the background. It's a nice touch.

5th place was Andykamezou:

Andy sent in a couple of banners similar to the one above, but with minor changes. This one was my favorite and you, too, came pretty close to winning. Again, nothing wrong with this banner at all. Your only problem was the competition was so tough this time around.

[TPF] HelloPro! TIME Episode 22 (subbed) download link

More 10th gen stuff!

Aichan heart project

I'm always happy to promote other blogs, especially when they make a meaningful post, which is what I want to do now. One of the Admins from Chuu! Sugoi! Idol! brought to my attention a tribute to Aichan that they are putting together:

All you have to do is take a picture of yourself making a heart sign like this (example taken from this post):

and they will combine them all into one video.

Check out the blog post above if you're interested!

Contest #5 winners!!

In total, 69 (!) different people entered. That is by far a new Airiindeshou record (in previous contests, no more than 15 people have ever entered), so be proud of yourselves! But, unfortunately that meant that competition was also the toughest that its ever been. I had the hardest time narrowing down all of those banners - seriously at least 12 people did well enough to win.

So, I had to eliminate some really, really great banners. I managed to get it down to 12 before I got stuck and that was when I realized I couldn't just pick one; that would've been impossible. That's why I picked three winners!

First place goes to Mirai!

The reason why I allowed people to make multiple banners was to not give everyone an unlimited amount of chances; but rather it was to see who could create greatness not only once, but many times (of course, it wasn't a requirement - there were plenty of amazing single banners). And Mirai did just that. Mirai didn't create four banners just because. She (...you're a she right? If not, then sorry~) had a plan - one for each season. As soon as I get time, Airiindeshou will undergo some minor changes to implement Mirai's fall banner.

Here is one of Mirai's other banners - the spring one:

S/mileage news

Catching up on some of the latest S/mileage news (it's been a long, busy week in the life of Airiindeshou...), here are three things of note.

First, the Tachiagaaru PV was uploaded to the official S/mileage channel Tuesday:

Contest #5: Make me a banner!

Over the past couple of weeks I will be running a couple of different contests, so you'll have multiple chances to win. So, if you suck at Photoshop, don't worry!

The prize is this:

No, not all of them (too lazy to get them back off the shelf and take another picture). You'll get your choice of either: one of the regular edition CDs (very top) or one of the Aichan editions (very bottom).

So how do you win? It's simple - just make me a banner for this blog.

1. The picture needs to be of Airi and Airi only.

2. It needs to have my blog name (Airii~n deshou?!) on the banner.

That's it! Just as long as it's Airi and says Airii~n deshou?! then you're good. Take a look at Raffi's blog if you need an example of what I'm looking for. I don't really care about the size - just make it somewhat close to the size of my current banner (wider would be nice but not required).

Entries are due by Saturday, September 24th 11:59 PM US Eastern Time. Please email your entries to airiindeshou@gmail.com

Good luck!

Aichan's last single first week sales

It sold 49,576 copies!

With the sole exception of Nanchatte Renai (54,973), this is Morning Musume's highest selling first week in four years. And it's their 3rd highest first week in six years, only beat out by the above mentioned Nanchatte Renai as well as Kanashimi Twilight (53,551).

I think we've already accomplished sending away Aichan in style and we still have a few more weeks to add to this single's sales before it drops out the charts. Now's not too late to buy it!

[TPF] HelloPro! TIME Episode 20 (subbed) download link

Yep, we're late this week. It's due to a perfect storm of literally all three TPF members involved in this release having busy weeks. That, of course meant we weren't able to get it out on time. But, the show must go on and we're actively working on episode 21 right now (as well as other projects, yay).

Morning Musume debuts at #2

So, I expected them to debut at #2 but the first day sales are amazingggggg. They almost sold more than Mikan sold in it's entire first week. This single's first day sales are even higher than the magical Nanchatte Renai single! And the best part of it all is that we almost, almost beat EXILE - something that no one thought possible. EXILE is selling lower than expected, so if Morning Musume can keep up sales like this the whole week (it's unlikely but...) then we might just be able to snatch #1 away. Yay wotas (and everyone else who bought copies!)!

The troubled life of Kago Ai

Yesterday Kago Ai tried to commit suicide (for the second time in her life), and was hospitalized as a result.

Just days before, her current boyfriend was arrested for suspicions of being connected to the Japanese mafia (the yakuza). Kago herself was taken in for questioning as well. Earlier this year she announced that she left her record company on bad terms due to not seeing eye to eye with each other. In 2010 she released her first solo album, which barely sold over 500 copies (total). In 2009, her previous boyfriend was sued by his ex-wife and he lost the case; he had to give up his home, his car, and pay child support. And there's much more, but you get the point.

Kago is a troubled soul that was broken by being exposed to the idol show-business too young. However, even at age 12, it was something Kago had to do: "Kago had worked to earn her brothers and sister's living, tuition and rehab money, on behalf of her mother, who was concentrating on parenting and housework. She had to support the household even though she was a teenager."

I'd like to bring to your attention a very old H!O article (well, a translation of an article) from where I got that quote from. It's very revealing of not only Kago's life, but also some "inside" information on the idol business in general: http://www.hello-online.org/index.php?app=helloapp&CODE=article&topic=128

In it, it was revealed how Kago's mother raised four kids alone (having multiple kids is a rarity in Japan today; look at the country's drastically falling birth rate), how Kago's youngest brother is mentally handicapped (Japan is very backward when it comes to illnesses like that), and just how strict the idol business is at times.

Unfortunately, Kago seems to have a knack for making the wrong decisions in life, but knowing the above, it just makes me sad when people blame her for her issues. She's gone through a lot not only in the last few years, but all throughout her young life. People tend to forget that she's barely older than Niigaki Risa (23 years old). Kago has broken many of her fans hearts over the years with her decisions in life, but it's times like this where she needs the support of her fans the most. I really hope that this incident will be the last and Kago will stay out of the limelight for a while to get her life back on track.

C-ute fans should already know this, but today, September 10th, is C-ute's day!

Every year on this date they have a Cutie Circuit concert and this year was no different. However, what was different is that the official C-ute channel uploaded three performances from the concert in full 1080p HD! It's pretty hard to see anything, but oh well. And Maichan's hairstyle is so cuuuute <3

I re-encoded the video to make the filesize a bit smaller.

S/mileage loses another member

One of the new sub-members, Kosuga Fuyuka wasn't feeling well during rehearsals, went to the hospital, and was told she has a severe case of anemia.

Because of this, she needs to rest for a few months and it has been decided that she will no longer be a S/mileage sub-member. When she is back to full health, she will return to Hello! Project as an Egg.

It must really suck for her to pass the audition only to not be physically able to join the group. Although she'll be back in H!P when she recovers, eventually having to be a back-up dancer to S/mileage will be pretty difficult to do, I'd imagine. I just hope that when she does get well, she will have another opportunity with another group (or at least some sort of shuffle group) to show what she's got.

Thanks to Tokyograph for the translation.

This week's Ninki Poll

01 123.30 EXILE / EXILE ATSUSHI - Rising Sun / Itsuka Kitto...
02 56.80 Morning Musume. - Kono Chikyu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatteirundayo! / Kare to Issho ni Omise ga Shitai
04 34.90 ClariS - nexus
05 32.40 Nakashima Mika - LOVE IS ECSTASY
06 25.60 RAINBOW - A
07 25.00 The Cro-magnons - Number One Yarou!
08 24.10 Sukima Switch - Hare Tokidoki Kumo
09 16.90 MAY'S - BONDS
10 16.10 BIGMAMA - #DIV/0!
(thanks to aramatheydidn't for the translation)

The Ninki Poll is, well, a poll given out by Oricon every week asking random Japanese fans which singles they are likely to buy. It isn't a prediction of sales, but it does give a decent gauge on what some of Japan thinks about this week's singles.

Let's help send Aichan away in style!

Re-posting an old post of mine on how to request an artist to appear on Music Station:

As of right now, things are looking great as far as the Oricon charts go. Morning Musume's main competition is the seemingly never-ending members of EXILE (they usually sell at least 100k, usually 300k) so #1 is unlikely to happen, but #2 is wide open. Notables are Mika Nakashima (usually sells 20k), Sukima Switch (usually sells 20k), and possibly YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz (no idea about their past sales, but it's a Gackt creation, so it has the possibility of selling well). Unless I missed someone, everyone else releasing that day are smaller indie artists, or artists that normally sell 5k and don't pose a threat.

That means that there is a very, very good chance that Morning Musume will be able to get the #2 spot - something they haven't accomplished since the awesomeness that is Nanchatte Renai (it would be great if they could duplicate those sales, as well).

I bought my five copies, what about you? If you can, buy Aichan's last single!
