ReplyDeleteso early.
I must debate on whether or not I will watch this :/
As I tought... It doesn't work this time either. At least I did't have to wake up early (11AM). Disappointing nonetheless.
ReplyDeleteSo disappointing. They're not using the sub-members very well. And you know how we were all worried about the dynamic of S/mileage's song-to-person ratio? Well, we were right to be worried. It was like a 3 member S/mileage concert with four background dancers.
ReplyDeleteIt seems they realized that Kana fits in the least; they only had her sing two lines in "Ganbaranakute mo ee Nende!!" for her two songs with current!S/mileage, the rest of the lines were badly lip-synced. Kanon's become quite the bully now that Saki's not there to keep order; she kept pulling up Akari's skirt during "Jitensha Chiririn". And Kanon's singing voice has changed so much! Damn puberty.
I'm starting to think that sub-members was the most stupid move Tsunku could have made. I pray that Saki had planned to leave before the audition announcement because this would be just stupid if she left because of the introduction of sub-members.
Saki, come back!!!
@Hidders
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch it, but I think it's the same with Morning Musume's concert. The 9th gen was also dancing most of the time and barely got lines. The new sub-members surely are really busy and have much to learn. They're not at the same level as the original members: In terms of dancing experience, singing live, popularity and concert experience in general. They're also very young so I think they don't want them to overwork themselves.
But I will judge completly as soon I've seen a recording.
It wasn't marvelous, but it wasn't too bad... Though it really made me dislike Kanon =( The sub-members didn't get to do much, but we did get to see and hear each of them, and they're all quite good =)
ReplyDeleteAwesome concert. Loved how they incorporated the sub-members. Very fair overall. Some very funny MC's as well. Can't wait to order the DVD.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I missed it. Hopefully someone has the footage?
ReplyDeletefirst of all... the stupid line distribution is just lame.... Kanon is sick, why the hell does she get the lines where she can't scream... like in Koi ni Booing Bu! it's BAKA!!! she said baka~~ Half way through the concert the new members sang the songs of thier firsts... WTH are they trying to rub in the fact that saki's gone and it's their time to reign? if the submembers don't get lines... what is the basic point of having them... if i didn't know about saki's departure, i would say why are there extras on the stage.....
ReplyDeleteWell, the finals are coming up for the sub-members on October 16th. Just like with the S/mileage debut, they are asking fans to send in pictures of people/themselves smiling, but with one of the sub-members' name and they will be using that as a vote, I guess. Kinda neat but who knows what's going to happen when the girls become full fledged members.
ReplyDelete@ MiracleHappyLove: True, but they practice a lot before the first concert and they practice in between concerts. As each girl gets two (sometimes three because of Fuu-chan's absence) dedicated songs where they take Saki's place they really shouldn't have any problems picking up Saki's lines since they were only one-fourth of the song. If it's too much work then the way I see it they should stop using them as backup dancers and let them dedicate their time and effort on their own songs. There's no excuse during those songs to not let these girls sing so that they can gather fans to vote for them.
