When the group was first formed, Tsunku did say that the line-up could change.. and, well, it's finally happening - a year after their major debut.

Starra at JPM has a translation of it:
S/mileage are taking applications for a new member! There were be an interview in Shibuya in June. Middle school and high school students can apply! Please look at the official site for details! We are waiting for a lot of applications!
More information at S/mileage's website (in Japanese): http://s-mileage.jp/member-bosyu.shtml
This is definitely.. interesting. Certainly can't say I saw it coming.
Though to be honest, I don't think S/mileage really needs anything. Overall I'd say the group's talent is pretty evenly distributed and any additions is going to upset that balance. But oh well, it's going to bring excitement to the group, at least.
Oh that Tsunku
ReplyDeleteFrom Tokyohive:
Producer Tsunku teased fans on Twitter as well, answering “Tsunku-san, everyone at the event was shocked!” with “Maji desu ka ska?” (“For real? Ska”), a play on the title of Morning Musume’s last single.
Tsunku's mad I tell you! MAD!!!
That was pretty strange move.
ReplyDeleteI'm not fan of S/mileage but I think that lineup has been good. And people have liked group with this current line-up?
But well. At least I'm happy that they're looking only one member(?)
I knew it! Something is ALWAYS up when Tsunku appears. He never brings good news. The show was so good and then he appears and does that evil, ominous laugh.
ReplyDeleteI know they didn't say anything but I think a S/mileage graduation might happen... Maybe a transfer from S/mileage to Morning Musume.
Now there will be two 5 member groups. Unless he adds 2.
ReplyDelete*Flame shield on*
ReplyDeletegood. im tired of their annoying whiny voices.
that's....interesting...o___o
ReplyDeleteI'M GLAD IS NOT WITH C-UTE YAYYYY~~<333
though I don't really pay attention to S/mileage so idk
GODDAMMIT.
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS TSUNKU.
Y U DO THIS.
I am so upset omg.
@tommyvd: lol, that quote is funny. I love Tsunku <3
ReplyDelete@Kylon: I take it you don't want new members? lol
@Puolukka: Strange indeed. Most people (even Japanese wota) seem to like the current line-up.
@Hidders: Haha yes. Tsunku and his evil laughing always means trouble. A S/mileage graduation would be even more shocking than this announcement, but with Tsunku you never know. I just hope not.
@Raffi: I think he just wants one.
@Hallto: Both Yuuka and DAWA have naturally high pitched (singing) voices and with half of your group like that, of course their overall sound is going to be "whiny". Adding another member really isn't going to change that.
@Melisa: i can't wait until you audition ^_~
@Leia: aw, well at least it's better than the "g" word.
@Chris
ReplyDelete*ducks in cover* Don't let that be next.
Not Yuuka or Sakitty and DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TAKING AWAY MY DAWA AND KANYON TSUNKU. DON'T YOU DARE.
In other news, their sixth single has been given a title, “Uchouten LOVE.”
I guess this will be the last song before the new girl/s. Unless they her/them in last minute.
HEY I SHOULD AUDITION.
Also, if someone older than DAWA becomes the new member, this doesn't boot her out of her leader position, does it? It shouldn't. It better not.
YOU TOTALLY SHOULD AUDITION. YEAH.
ReplyDeleteAs long as DAWA is in the group, she is leader. Senpai status is determined by seniority and time in the company, not age. That's why Hagiwara Mai is technically S/mileage's senpai even though she's younger than most of their members.
IF ONLY MY PARENTS WOULD LET ME GO TO NUCLEAR RADIATION INFESTED JAPAN WITHIN THE NEXT FEW DAYS WITH MY SAT BEING ON SATURDAY AND THEN MASSIVE TESTING IN TWO WEEKS. I would love too.
ReplyDeleteLol, I totally forgot Mai was younger than DAWA, Yuuka, and Kanon(I am exactly one year older than Kanon<3). Probably because Mai may be my least favorite member of Hello!Project. But yeah. DAWA must stay leader, it is part of the reason I came to appreciate her. And I for one, love her voice and don't see why others complain about it. It's naturally like that so people need to get over it.
