Airii~n Deshou?! Monthly Wrap Up (May 2011 Edition)

Welcome to the second edition of my monthly wrap up series. Because I post so often, I decided to make a mega post at the end of each month to highlight the month's noteworthy posts. This month I once again set an Airii~n Deshou?! post record at 75 posts. Though don't expect me to break that record for a third straight time. I start school again in a couple weeks so I'll be back to about one post a day.

I've all but given up hope on Hello! Morning ever returning, but HelloPro! Time has been entertaining every single week so I can't really complain. Episode 3 (Berryz documenting their trip to Seattle) was even subtitled into English by Hyakupa so you have no excuses to miss out!

In early May, news broke that Saho would indeed stay within UFA and joined UFG at an event. However, the shuffling of former Eggs did not stop there. Saho, along with Minami would later be added to the k-pop dance cover group FZS, further blurring the line between what exactly UFZS and Up-Front Girls really is.

Finishing out C-ute's 2010 Spring Concert solo angles are Leader and Nakky! If you didn't already know, these solo angles feature one group member per DVD. The camera focuses solely on that one member, so you get the complete staring-at-your-favorite-member experience!

In May I held two more contests and gave away a C-ute poster and four Kikkawa Yuu trading cards. They will probably be the last contests for a while so you'll have to stay tuned for more opportunities to win stuff later.

Sayaka-sama's Anime single aired on Japanese radio and also appeared as the ending theme for the Inazuma Eleven GO Anime.

C-ute's latest PV was all fun and summery.

Two very shocking audition announcements that no one could have predicted. Like it or not, those two groups will look very different by the time 2012 comes around!

C-ute staff aired C-ute's 2011 Spring concert live on USTREAM and I recorded it. It was awesome!

For their first appearance, they performed with a live band. On the second, Aika and Gakisan sat down and watched a few foreigners sing Japanese songs. Known Airi fangirl Chobineko was lucky enough to make it onto the second show. First risu and now Chobineko. I wonder who the next foreign blogger to make it on a H!P show will be?

I offically declared Monday May 9th, 2011 as Maimi badass day because I had two videos saved up that feature Maimi kicking butt - her movie Black Angels and her play Ran. Hyakupa subbed Black Angels so you should totally watch now!

Kikka made her first Music Japan appearance and performance her debut single Kikkake wa YOU!

In an unfortunate twist of events (pun not intended, I swear), Aika fractured her ankle and will be unable to dance for a while. But, she is still attending events and stuff.

BUBKA magazine came out with results of a poll that listed Airi as Japan's 20th most loved woman. Airi!!!

Airi continued her animal imitation series on C-ute's Youtube channel. A kind Youtuber translated it and I added the translation to the video.

I got a huge package from CDJapan that contained a bunch of new H!P releases.

  • USTREAMUSUME #4 and #5
More Gakisan x 9th gen awesomeness.

I wrote a long post explaining why I think Morning Musume's 10th gen will fit in perfectly into Morning Musume history.

Berryz shows why I love the Ai no Dangan outfits.

I speculate on why I think September 30th will be Aichan's last day as Morning Musume's leader.

KIDS fansubs subtitled Captain's amazingly hot first photobook DVDs. Let's hope that there will be many more photobooks in the future!

The first link contains photos from magazines and such containing previews of Airi's first of two new photobooks. The second contains a link to Hyakupa's great work subtitling the making of DVD packaged with Airi's photobook.

In 2001, someone in management decided to OK an American release of some of H!P's classic songs.. sung in English by random R&B artists. Most of the covers on that album are so horrible I can only wonder why it was released.

I watched H!P's A-gana 2011 Winter concert DVD and made many gifs of C-ute shaking their butt. Enough said.

Screenshots and download links to two great H!P concerts that I encoded.

This month Yagu got married to a really tall guy!

Mizupon's first solo DVD was finally released, so I had to encode it.

I was in love with the song before, but the epic PV made me love it even more.

Click to read how you can help Morning Musume get on one of the most popular Japanese music shows.

Just in case you thought Ai no Dagan was the only great song/PV this month, think again. Gakisan single handedly brings this single to life.

A lot of fans hate it. I state why I think it's for the greater good.

Berryz gets a Happy Music appearance and performs Ai no Dangan live. Hot <3

  1. ^x2 LOL! I generally thing everyone's a girl unless I find out otherwise. That's what the "About Me" is for.

Another massive month for H!P! I'd be shocked if there could be another month like this in the next few months. But who knows, Tsunku has been popping his head out of the H!P cave and announcing shockers like crazy.

You wouldn't happen to have Ustream Musume #6 would you? I downloaded the FLV from the tracker but I can't get it to convert to MP4.

  3. please no more shocking announcements please no more shocking announcements please no more shocking announcements please no more shocking announcements please no more shocking announcements *breathes*

I just have the flv file and I haven't watched yet. The wota that recorded it has a strange way of encoding and I do have troubles getting a working mp4 file without out of sync audio. I hope that someone else uploads a recording too, because there is usually a guy that uploads his recording in .avi, which is a lot easier to work with.

  4. Damn. I'll just have to snag the AVI from YT. Which sucks because the uploader doesn't cut the videos cleanly so that I could append them together. This is when having a boat-load of programs comes in handy, one if them is bound to let me edit the videos the way I need to. I'll figure something out.

I also missed this morning's episode of UM. I can not believe I did that. 6 weeks and now I fall off the bandwagon.

I think, like you, I'm ready for H!P to slow down for a few months.

  5. Yes, can H!P please slow down? Everything's happening so damn fast omg.

Also, is there anyway anyone can rip an MP3 file of S/mileage's version of Koisuru Angel Heart? They should really make that a B-Side to their next single if they release it before the new member.
