A guide to encoding, part six (encoding & finishing up)

Almost done, yay!

Once again, return to the main MeGUI window. The "Avisynth Script", "Video Output", "Audio Input", and "Audio Output" boxes should all have files in them, like so.

Now, where it says "File Format", select either .mkv or .mp4. Either one is fine (if you are using xvid to encode, .avi should be the only thing you choose).

Similarly, on the audio section, where it says "Encoder Settings", select Nero AAC *scratchpad* and click config. Make sure "Normalize Peaks" is checked and make sure it says 100. Personally I prefer a Constant Bitrate, so select that. Drag the slider anywhere from 128 to 320 and you'll be good. I normally use 256.

Now all that is left to do is click "Enqueue" for both the video and the audio.

The status window will appear again, and now you just wait for everything to finish.

The absolute last step is muxing. Click on "Tools", then "Muxer", and select whichever muxer is appropriate for you (if you are making a .mp4 file, then the MP4 muxer).

Add your video and your audio to the correct places and select Queue. Whenever both the audio and video are done, MeGUI will mux the two files together. The muxed video is the finished product.

Congrats, you are finally done! I have one more part planned, where I will list a bunch of helpful links, post some final thoughts, and make a quick video of me showing a bunch of the steps I went through in this guide, for quick access. So check out part seven when you finish reading this.
